National beach circuits hold stops in Belgium, Bulgaria, France, Poland, Romania – FIVB

BELGIUM

Bracket leaders Britt Ruysschaert & Jade Van Deun claimed the women’s gold at the Hemiksem stop on the Belgian Beach Tour. In the final, they took a 2-0 (21-16, 21-17) victory over second-seeded Lisa Van Den Vonder & Louka Maertens, who brought home silver. Youna Coens & Helene Rousseaux completed the podium after winning the bronze medal match with a 2-0 (21-13, 21-17) upset of the third-seeded mixed Russian-Belgian pairing of Olga Troshina & Xien Van Snick.

Women’s results and standings

Seeds one and two in the men’s bracket also reached the gold medal match, which went 2-0 (21-13, 21-19) the way of bracket leaders Joppe Van Langendonck & Kyan Vercauteren against Louis Vandecaveye & Gilles Vandecaveye. Daan Hendrikx & Christophe Witvrouwen took the bronze after delivering a 2-0 (21-13, 21-15) shutout of third-seeded Martijn Colson & Dennis Deroey in the third-place game.

BULGARIA

Top-seeded Ivet Gavrailova & Antoniya Nikolova lived up to their status and claimed the women’s gold at the Primorsko stop on the Grifid Masters Beach Volley tour in Bulgaria. In the final, they achieved a 2-1 (21-11, 17-21, 15-8) victory over Elitsa Hristova & Svilena Stoyanova. The third-place match was also resolved in the tie-breaker – 2-1 (21-15, 20-22, 15-8) in favor of second-seeded Stefani Kyoseva & Veronika Ivanova over third-seeded Veronika Petrova & Eva Petrova.

Women’s results and standings

The bracket leaders of the men’s main draw – Zahari Zgurov & Georgi Antov – also lived up to their ranking and conquered the gold in Primorsko. They put together a 2-0 (21-19, 21-16) win over third-seeded Martin Yochev & Denislav Dimitrov in the gold medal match. In the bronze medal game, Aleksandar Dobrev & Georgi Salparov produced a 2-0 (21-9, 22-20) victory over Simeon Terziyski & Daniel Valev.

Laura Longuet Walgenwitz & Elsa Descamps celebrated the women’s gold at last week’s Montbeliard stop on the France Beach Volley Series. The top seeds mastered a 2-0 (21-12, 21-13) shutout of second-seeded Pia Szewczyk & Faustine Blondeau in the final. The bronze went to Manon Rebuffel & Chloe Maryannick Charles, who managed a 2-0 (21-17, 21-17) victory over Cecile Billiet & Victoria Beguelin in the third-place playoff.

Keran Duval & Jules M’Couela came back from a set down to mount a 2-1 (16-21, 21-16, 15-12) upset of top-seeded Lilian Le Meur & Jeremy Ullmann in the final to lift the men’s trophy. Third-seeded Quentin Hypolyte & Adrien Bezu took third place after a 2-0 (21-12, 21-17) sweep of the bronze medal match against Tagir Sattarov & Loic Eyraud.

POLAND

Czechia’s Andrea Lorenzova & Mariana Tomasova topped the women’s podium as Poland’s Orlen Beach Volley Tour visited Staszow last week. They nailed a 2-0 (21-13, 31-16) sweep of the gold medal match against Patrycja Jundzill & Julia Gierczynska. In the bronze medal game, second-seeded Lithuanians Gerda Grudzinskaite & Rugile Grudzinskaite beat Julia Kielak & Zuzanna Kudlik by a narrow 2-0 (24-22, 21-19).

Qualifiers Marek Subocz & Michal Witkos progressed all the way to the first place in the men’s tournament. In the final, they achieved a 2-0 (21-19, 21-15) victory over Lithuania’s Audrius Knasas & Povilas Piesina. Bracket leaders Jedrzej Brozyniak & Piotr Janiak settled for bronze after a 2-1 (21-14, 19-21, 15-11) battle with second-seeded Michal Korycki & Milosz Kruk for the third place.

ROMANIA

The 2026 Romanian national tour (pictured in the main photo; credits: Sportul Ilustrat) served off in Galati last week. The top three in the women’s final standings matched the top three seeding in the main draw bracket. Adriana-Maria Burtea & Beata Vaida emerged as the first gold medalists of the season after hammering out a 2-0 (21-17, 21-9) sweep of the final against Ioana Sorina Hododi & Denisa Bianca Popa. Moldova’s Inessa Staver & Olesea Osadet grabbed the bronze after a tight 2-0 (21-17, 22-20) win over Gabriela Panait & Andreea Stanescu in the third-place match.

Women’s results and standings

The first men’s gold of the season went to Alexandru Ignat & Robert Virlan. They produced a nail-biting 2-1 (21-18, 16-21, 16-14) victory over Sergiu-Octavian Rodina & Valentin Hupoiu in the final showdown. The bronze medal playoff was settled in straight sets, 2-0 (21-10, 21-16), in favor of the mixed Romanian-Ukrainian pairing of Ghimes Cosmin & Maksym Kavunenko over Ioan Moroldo & Bogdan Mehedinteanu.
