According to reports, the team’s stay toward the end of the tour was far from comfortable, raising concerns about management arrangements and logistical planning.
Players Forced to Vacate Accommodation Before Final Match
Sources revealed that the Pakistan team had to vacate their booked accommodation before their last match due to booking complications. Players were reportedly busy packing their belongings on match day morning, as they were required to check out by 10:00 AM.
The situation created unnecessary stress for the squad ahead of an important fixture.
Payment Issues and Cancelled Hotel Booking
Sources further disclosed that the Pakistan Hockey Federation had paid for seven days of accommodation in Hobart. However, the team was reportedly lodged about one and a half hours outside the city, where limited facilities were available.
Although a hotel booking had initially been arranged, it was later canceled due to non-payment. Following this setback, team management reportedly arranged accommodation and meals for players with the support of the local community.
Overcrowded Rooms and Short-Term Booking
Reports indicate that alternative accommodation was booked through an online website, where four to five players had to share a single room. Moreover, the booking did not cover the full required duration of the stay.
Such arrangements have raised questions about the management and support provided to the national side during an international tour.
Return After Pro Hockey League Campaign
It is worth noting that the Pakistan hockey team will return home tomorrow after participating in the second phase of the FIH Pro League in Australia.
During the first and second phases of the Pro League, the team suffered defeats in all eight matches — a challenging campaign both on and off the field.
